• HEAR YE! HEAR YE! THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST GENERAL SYNOD: JULY 1 - JULY 5, 2011, IN TAMPA, FLORIDA
  General Synod meets every other year to do the business of the larger church. It meets around the United States and this year it is in Tampa, Florida. The whole Synod will be streamed live so you can actually watch in real time! Remember the three hour time difference!
  To stream General Synod simply go to www.ucc.org and click on the General Synod icon. It has all the connections/links you need to watch in real time. There is even a link for iphone users! You can watch it on iphone, on Facebook or the UCC site - So just go to the UCC site and be at General Synod with Pastor Steve and Violet, Mimi and Peggy! There is also a calendar on the UCC site so you can check and see if you want to watch some of the business about resolutions being made this year or if you would like to hear some of the keynote speakers - there are biographies of each of the speakers. Sometimes they also rerun some of the speakers. I watched much of the last Synod from home and it was very interesting.
  The recognition of the churches that won the "Imagine the Impossible" contest will be held on Saturday evening, July 2nd at 7:30 PM, Eastern Time. That will be 4:30 PM Pacific Time. Our church will be recognized as the winner of the contest from the Western Region. Just have some chili in the crock pot, come home a little early from work, and watch the whole ceremony right in front of your computer. Or, stay at work and watch it on your iphone. It will be nice to know that some of you are with us in spirit!
• Space For Rent - Is your group or congregation looking for a space to rent on a daily, weekly or monthly basis? We have several options available from a large Sanctuary (only available for afternoon or evening service), Fellowship Hall, Basement Room w/kitchen, Nursery, etc., to smaller areas (room sizes vary).
