Housing our Homeless Neighbors: Celebrating Everett’s Progress

Hosted by Everett Faith in Action

Hear from non-profits, local government, and faith leaders about the progress Everett has made in addressing the issue of homelessness over the last several years, including the openings this year of supportive housing at Clare’s Place, the new Cocoon House, HopeWorks Station II; and the one-stop shop at the Carnegie Resource Center. We will celebrate the partnerships that have made this possible and the opportunities for engagement that will help these projects be successful.

This class on the United Church of Christ will be taught by Rev. Ruth Brandon, with assists at times from videos done by the national church.  We will explore such questions as “what kind of folks/churches united anyway?”  “is everybody really progressive?” "what are those 'famous firsts' the UCC claims?"  “does our diversity extend to ways we do things? and ways we think about God and Jesus?” “what  ARE normal ways of making decisions and interacting with the world in the UCC?” “Since we became the UCC, have we continued to grow and change?” “What are current focuses/themes of the national church and do they matter to us?” We will start by asking for YOUR burning questions so they don't get missed. This class is being held on Tuesdays: October 8 and 15, November 12 and 19, December 10 and 17., Please save the dates and come to as many as you can.
